Solana position size calculator.
Enter your balance, how much of it you accept to lose, and where your stop is. The calculator returns the position size that makes a stop-out cost exactly that amount, plus the price impact and break-even move for your trade. It runs in your browser and stores nothing.
Calculator
This is arithmetic on the numbers you enter, not advice. It does not tell you what to buy or how much to risk.
How the numbers are calculated
Position size comes from the amount you accept to lose and the distance to your stop:
Price impact uses a constant-product pool as an approximation. For a buy of size s against a SOL reserve R:
Round-trip cost adds the token tax and the impact paid on the way in and the way out. The break-even move is the gain needed to recover it. Real pools, fees and routing differ, so check the quote in your terminal before you trade.
Practice the sizing on paper
Knowing your size is easy. Sticking to it after three losses is the hard part. Tracer's session debrief flags size-ups after a loss and re-entries within 5 minutes, so you can see where your sizing breaks and drill it with 0 SOL at risk.
Questions
How do I size a memecoin position?
Decide the share of your balance you accept to lose, then divide it by the distance to your stop. With 10 SOL, 2% risk and a 30% stop, you risk 0.2 SOL and the size is about 0.67 SOL.
Is price impact the same as slippage?
No. Price impact is how far your own order moves the price in the pool. Slippage tolerance is the largest price move you accept between the quote and the fill. This calculator estimates the price impact.
How accurate is the price impact estimate?
It is an approximation for a constant-product pool using the SOL reserve you enter. Real pools, fees and routing differ, so use it as a guide and confirm the quote in your terminal.
Does this calculator store my numbers or give advice?
No. It runs in your browser, sends nothing anywhere and keeps nothing. It is arithmetic on the inputs you give it and is not financial advice.
Stick to your size when it counts.
Practice your sizing with 0 SOL at risk and get a debrief that flags every size-up after a loss.
